Configuring Okta Verify

When you access apps protected by Okta Verify you choose which method used to verify your identity. A push notification sent to your device or a temporary six-digit code.

Okta Verify sends push notifications to your mobile for you to approve, can be used to verify a your account on multiple devices and supports biometrics if enabled on your device (Fingerprint etc).

Before you begin, you need to install the Okta Verify app on your mobile. Available for Android and Apple iPhone.

  1. Log in.

  2. Go to your user name / initials.

  3. Select Edit Profile.

  4. Go to Security Settings.

    Select Security Settings.

  5. Select Manage my security.

    Select Manage my security.

  6. Go to Security Method and select Set up for Okta Verify.

  7. Verify it's you with a security method. Choose Email or Password.

    You may get a verification request If you use Google Authenticator and its active on the account.

    • Email: Select Send me an email to receive a verification email.

      Click the link on the email or select Enter verification code instead and enter the unique code contained on the email.

      The link and verification code expires after 30 minutes.

    • Password: Enter your current password.

  8. Select Set up.

  9. Open Okta Verify on your mobile device.

  10. Select Add account.

  11. Go to Choose account type and select Other.
